Shared Billing Accounts

Shared Billing Accounts

A shared billing account lets you attach one billing profile to multiple workspaces. Each workspace has its own data, agents, and workflows — but billing is centralised under a single account.

How It Works

Every workspace in Outrun has a billing profile attached to it. By default, each workspace gets its own billing profile when created. But you can attach the same billing profile to multiple workspaces, which means:

  • One invoice covers all your workspaces
  • Credits pool across all attached workspaces
  • One payment method for everything
  • Each workspace still has completely isolated data — shared billing does not mean shared data

To attach a shared billing profile, go to Settings > Billing in any workspace and select "Attach existing billing profile." You need to be a manager of the billing profile to attach it.

Use Cases

Enterprise: Production + Sandbox

Run a production workspace alongside one or more sandbox environments for testing. All under one billing account.

  • Production workspace: Live agents, real customer data, active workflows
  • Sandbox workspace(s): Test new agent configurations, experiment with workflows, train new team members
  • One bill, one set of credits shared across all environments

Agency / MSP: Bill Your Clients What You Want

If you manage sales operations or marketing automation for multiple clients, shared billing gives you full control over pricing:

  • Each client gets their own workspace with isolated data, agents, and workflows
  • You attach your agency's billing profile to all client workspaces
  • Outrun bills you at your agreed rate — what you charge your clients is entirely up to you
  • Clients never see your Outrun billing details
  • This supports retainer models, pay-for-output models, or any pricing structure you choose

Multi-Brand or Multi-Product

If your company operates multiple brands or product lines that need separate customer-facing agents:

  • Each brand gets its own workspace with brand-specific agents, knowledge bases, and workflows
  • Shared billing keeps everything on one account
  • Useful when brands have different sales processes but share back-office operations

Multi-Region

If you need to isolate data by region for compliance or operational reasons:

  • Separate workspaces per region (EU, APAC, Americas, etc.)
  • Each workspace can have region-specific agents, language settings, and compliance rules
  • Shared billing consolidates costs across all regions

Setting It Up

  1. Create your primary workspace and billing profile
  2. Choose a plan that covers your expected usage across all workspaces
  3. Create additional workspaces as needed
  4. In each additional workspace, go to Settings > Billing > Attach existing billing profile
  5. Select your shared billing profile

Credits are consumed from the shared pool regardless of which workspace uses them. You can monitor per-workspace usage in the billing dashboard.

FAQ

Can clients see my billing details? No. Billing details are only visible to billing profile managers. Clients in their own workspaces cannot see the billing profile, plan, or payment information.

What happens if credits run out? All workspaces attached to the billing profile pause their automated workflows until credits are replenished. You can purchase top-up packs or upgrade your plan at any time.

Can I detach a workspace later? Yes. You can switch any workspace to its own billing profile at any time from Settings > Billing.

Is there a limit on how many workspaces I can attach? No hard limit. If you're running 10+ workspaces, contact us about enterprise pricing — we can structure credits and pricing to fit your specific setup.
